Doncaster Park Kindergarten News – Term 2 2014

Specialist Programs

Our specialist programs kicked off this term at Doncaster Park Kindergarten.

The 3yo group began their weekly dance classes –  music and drama,  fun and games, with a weekly theme.

PeeWee PE came in for a weekly class of sports and PE based games in the 4yo class.

The 4yo group also  began their weekly music and drama classes.

We collected donations for St Kilda Mums Coats for Kids initiative. Boxes of goods were delivered to their warehouse, to be distributed to those in need of warm clothing for Winter. Thanks to all our generous families.

Working Bee

Our annual Working Bee was held on a sunny Sunday morning. Parents, grandparents and kids all got their hands dirty for a few hours, as we tidied up our wonderful Kinder.  Thank you to all the families who gave up their valuable time.

Three garden beds were built, to be used for the children to grow flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables at the Kinder.

If you’re a green thumb, please feel free to suggest planting tips for our gardens throughout the year.

We had a Chinese Culture incursion,  bringing traditional dance, costume and stories to the 4yo class. Traditional_chinese_fans

Doncaster Park became Jurassic Park, when Melbourne Museum came for a visit. Fossils, bones, and all things dinosaur-us were on display for the children to hold, measure, and discuss.
